Tis the season for Krampus. The dark, Germanic alter-ego to Santa Claus is having quite a year, from a major Hollywood movie to bar crawls to burlesque shows. And now the “Christmas devil” is appearing on ugly sweaters for young and old. Krampus is a half-goat, half-demon creature who scares people into being nice. If necessary, he backs up his tough talk with a beat down. With horns and fangs, Krampus is strapped with birch sticks, a chain, and bells, sucka. Kids who insist on being naughty are dragged down to the underworld. There they are forced to listen to Justin Bieber’s Christmas album. Take that, St. Nick!
